Terms
Plain rules for the diagrams, the wire sizes and the job cards.
What the diagrams follow
Diagrams and wire sizes are drawn for common US residential circuits and follow the National Electrical Code as most places adopt it. Your town may use another edition or amend it, and your inspector has the final word. Check what is actually in your box before you rely on a diagram.
Your job card
A job card is for your own project. You may not resell or republish it. If something on your card is wrong, write to us and we will fix it and send you the corrected card.
Links to stores
Some links go to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Those stores sell to you under their own terms.
Limits
We work hard to get every diagram right, but the site and the job cards are provided as they are. Electrical work can start a fire or kill; turn the breaker off and test the wires dead before you touch them, and if you are not sure, hire a licensed electrician. Many places require a permit or a licensed electrician for some of this work. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from using the site or a job card beyond the amount you paid us.
